Lifeboat on the Enchanted Princess treated with Marine Coat!

On Saturday, August 13, the cruise ship Enchanted Princess of the shipping company Princess Cruises moored at the cruise terminal at the Wilhelminakade in Rotterdam. The ship with a maximum length of 330 meters can accommodate approximately 3600 passengers plus 1350 final members.

Following the previously conducted pilot on the Hatecke lifeboats of the cruise ship Aida Perla, a rescue boat of the Enchanted Princess followed this weekend.

Also on the lifeboat on board the problems and deficiencies have been noted as problems and deficiencies on board the rescue operations. The bright fades very quickly due to the chalking process of content causing a dull surface which has direct consequences for safety on board. The education of the lifeboats offers no solution, apart from the fact that this has to be performed in a high frequency, the polymers discolor to yellow. This results in a change in color and a decrease in gloss level. The boats can matter.

During the period that the cruise ship was berthed at the Wilhelminakade, a rescue sloop was overhauled in accordance with the Impressed Pro Marine methodology. By means of an extensive inspection in which the technical condition of the lifeboat is determined using our condition score system. It soon became clear that the substrates can be categorized in condition score 4. After an intensive pre-treatment program, it is based on the Impressed Pro Marine Coat protection system. This is the lifeboat reconditioned to condition score 1 to 2. With a tailor-made maintenance program we can then consolidate the technical of the surfaces into condition score 1 to 2. It can be called very positive, in addition to the safety aspect, the luxurious appearance has also been restored.

This second pilot is part of an extensive process in which the aim is to develop an extensive procedure in the near future to ensure the safety of the lifeboats.

Reddingssloep op de Enchanted Prinses behandeld met Marine Coat!

Op zaterdag 13 augustus meerde het cruiseschip Enchanted Princess van rederij Princess Cruises af aan de cruiseterminal bij de Wilhelminakade in Rotterdam. Het schip met een indrukwekkende lengte van 330 meter biedt plaats aan circa 3600 passagiers plus 1350 bemanningsleden.

In navolging op de eerder uitgevoerde pilot op de Hatecke reddingssloepen van cruiseschip Aida Perla volgde dit weekend dus een reddingssloep van de Enchanted Princess.

Ook op de reddingssloep aan boord van de Enchanted Princess zijn vergelijkbare problemen en gebreken geconstateerd als op de reddingssloepen van de Aida Perla. De felle kleur vervaagt zeer snel door het verkrijtingsproces hetgeen zorgt voor een doffe ondergrond dat directe gevolgen heeft voor de veiligheid aan boord. Het poetsen van de reddingsboten biedt geen uitkomst, nog buiten het feit dat dit in een hoge frequentie uitgevoerd moet worden, verkleuren de polymeren naar geel tinten. Dit resulteert in een verandering van kleur en een steeds hogere afname qua glansgraad. De boten worden steeds matter.

Gedurende de periode dat het cruiseschip aan de Wilhelminakade lag is een reddingssloep onderhanden genomen conform de Impressed Pro Marine methodiek. Door allereerst een uitgebreide inspectie waarbij met behulp van ons conditiescore systeem de technische staat van de reddingssloep is bepaald. Al snel werd duidelijk dat de ondergronden gecategoriseerd kunnen worden in conditiescore 4. Na een intensief voorbehandelingsprogramma is de reddingssloep behandeld middels het Impressed Pro Marine Coat beschermsysteem. Hiermee is de reddingssloep gereconditioneerd naar conditiescore 1 á 2. Met een tailormade onderhoudsprogramma kunnen we vervolgens de technische staat van de ondergronden consolideren in conditiescore 1 á 2. Het eindresultaat is wederom zeer positief te noemen, naast het veiligheidsaspect is ook de luxe uitstraling hersteld.

Deze tweede pilot is onderdeel van een uitgebreid proces waarbij de doelstelling is om in de nabije toekomst een uitgebreide procedure op te stellen waarmee de veiligheid van de reddingsboten gewaarborgd blijft.
